For over 30 years, Butch Hartman's creativity has distinguished him as a well-loved animator, artist, director and writer. He’s best known for creating The Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom and other shows for Nickelodeon. But most importantly, he’s a husband to Julieann who he’s been married to for over 32 years and a Father to two grown daughters, Carly (who is married to their amazing son-in-law, Levi) and Sophia.
Butch is an icon in the entertainment business. His animated programs and entrepreneurial spirit have enabled him to reach millions of fans around the world. He’s frequently quoted as saying, "Art gives you power...use it wisely" and he intends to follow his own advice.
The Butch Hartman Art Academy combines his 35+ years of experience, his love for drawing, writing, show running, animating and storytelling plus his desire to encourage new artists with self-paced courses, personal coaching and the most important thing - community!

The Fairly OddParents
The Fairly OddParents is an American animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The series followed the adventures of Timmy Turner, a 10-year-old boy with two fairy godparents - Cosmo and Wanda - who grant his every wish but usually make a mess of things. The successful series began as a short cartoon in 1998 and, due to its popularity, became a half-hour series in 2001. It ran continually for 18 years and was Nickelodeon’s second longest running show behind SpongeBob SquarePants.
Danny Phantom
Danny Phantom is an animated superhero action adventure television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. Danny Fenton was once your typical kid until he accidentally blew up his parents’ science lab and became the ghost-hunting superhero Danny Phantom. The series premiered in 2004 receiving many award nominations and, over the years, has spawned video games, toys, graphic novels and has grown a rabid fan base that’s incredibly loyal and supportive.
Tuff Puppy
T.U.F.F. Puppy is an animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The series features a dim-witted dog named Dudley Puppy who, along with an animal team of crime-fighters and his partner Kitty Katswell, works as a spy for the Turbo Undercover Fighting Force! The series premiered in 2010 and is considered a comedy classic.
Bunsen is a Beast
Bunsen is a Beast is an animated television series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. It revolves around a small, fuzzy, blue beast named Bunsen who begins attending Muckledunk Middle School which previously only admitted humans. Bunsen and his friend Mikey Munroe combat beast-hating mean kids and a world that doesn’t quickly accept beasts as they navigate through school life. The series premiered in 2015.
